Credit Card Shopping Online
As a long time credit card merchant, I take my responsibility to the public very seriously. Too many websites will allow credit card purchases from anyone who presents a valid account number and expiration date combination, without even trying to verify that they are dealing with the account holder. What that means is that anyone can use YOUR credit card at these sites, to buy whatever they like...no questions asked. Sites that will ship to addresses other than the billing address (without first verifying the order) may seem convenient to you, but that is exactly how YOUR credit card could be used by someone without your authorization, or knowledge. As someone whose account information has been stolen twice, I know all too well how wide spread credit card fraud is today, especially online where buyers and sellers are anonymous. A Vintage Costume Jewelry Addiction is doing it's part to help cut down on credit card fraud. All billing addresses are verified and all orders are shipped to the billing address.
Ordering Information
All orders should be placed using our shopping cart, even those for which you will give your credit card information by phone.
Place items in your virtual shopping cart by clicking on the "add to cart" button.
To see the items in your cart, click on the My Cart link at the top of each page.
Items can be removed from your cart at any time by clicking on the My Cart link to show the cart contents and then clicking on "remove" for the item(s) you wish to remove.
To complete your order, again click on the My Cart link to see the contents of your shopping cart.
If you are a Virginia resident check the box indicating such since I must collect sales tax from you.
Select the appropriate shipping option. For USA buyers, USA General is the appropriate option unless you require Priority Mail or Express Mail. International buyers should click on the appropriate option for their country.
If you have a discount coupon, enter the coupon code then click on ENTER to calculate the discount.
Select your payment method.
Click on the button that says "Purchase for $....." to be taken to a form to enter your shipping information.
If paying by credit card online, you will proceed to a secure page to enter your credit card information.
All items are subject to prior sale. You will be notified by e-mail within 24 hours if the item(s) you have requested are not available, otherwise you can assume they are available.
Payment Methods - USA
Check/Money Order - Item(s) will be put on hold once we are notified that payment has been mailed.
Shipment 12 business days after receipt of payment unless drawn on a Bank of America, Suntrust or Wachovia account.
Checks drawn on Bank of America, Suntrust or Wachovia account will be shipped within 2 business days of receipt.
Postal Money Order - Item(s) will be put on hold once we are notified that payment has been mailed.
Shipped within 2 business days after receipt of payment.
Visa/Mastercard/Discover (online)* - Items will be put on hold upon receipt of order. Charge will appear on your statement as VCJ Online.
Shipped to billing address only within 2 business days of payment.
Visa/Mastercard/Discover (phone)* - Items will be put on hold upon receipt of your credit card information. Charge will appear on your statement as VCJ Online.
Shipped to billing address only within 2 business days of payment.
PayPal - (Confirmed addresses only) Items will be put on hold upon our notification of your PayPal payment. Please note that e-checks are NOT accepted. Payment will appear as VCJ Online in your Paypal account.

* Billing addresses are verified for every credit card transaction. We ship to billing address only, NO EXCEPTIONS! We reserve the right to refuse payment by credit card if we feel it would not be in our best interest to accept it.
Shipping - USA
Shipment will be made by U.S. Postal Service First Class Mail (free to you) and insured through a private insurer (also free to you) unless you request another option or the weight of your package mandates Priority Shipping.
If Priority Mail is chosen (or required due to weight) there will be a $3 charge for shipping packages up to 1 pound, and up to $8 for packages over 1 pound depending on weight and destination. Insurance will still be free.
If Express Mail is chosen there will be a minimum shipping charge of $15. The exact charge will depend on the weight of the package. Insurance will still be free.
Returned Checks
Returned checks will incur a $35 service charge, no exceptions
A POSTAL MONEY ORDER for the full amount of the returned check plus the $35 service charge is due within 15 business days of an emailed or phoned notification of a returned check.
Checks not made good within 15 business days will be turned over to
Virginia Court Services for collection. Once a check has been turned over for collection we can no longer accept your Postal Money Order.
Virginia Court Services will also recover all collection fees from you.
Payment Methods - Intl.
We are happy to accept orders from most countries with a minimum purchase of $75 USD. There are countries that we can not accept orders from due to the rules of our insurer. Those countries are listed with SHIPPING INTL information.
Visa/Mastercard/Discover are accepted subject to verification*.

MoneyGram Money Transfer. Item(s) will be put on hold once payment pickup information has been provided.
Shipped within 2 business days after receipt of payment.
PayPal - (UK and Canadian Confirmed addresses only). Items will be put on hold upon our notification of your PayPal payment.
Shipped to confirmed address only within 2 business days after receipt of payment.
Western Union Money Transfer. Item(s) will be put on hold for you once we receive the MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number).
Shipped within 2 business day after receipt of payment.
* Because billing addresses are not verifiable for credit cards outside the U.S., a copy of the top portion of your latest credit card statement (containing card issuer, statement date, name, billing address and account number), along with a signed sales slip (provided by A Vintage Costume Jewelry Addiction), may be required for credit card orders placed by first time customers in English speaking countries. My fax number will be provided with your sales slip. If required, the documentation must be received by us within three (3) business days to avoid cancellation.
A different verification method will be employed for non-English speaking countries.
Shipping - Intl.
Please note that shipping prices may change at the whim of the U.S. Postal Service. Recent rate increases have affected international shipping rates significantly more than domestic rates and I unfortunately have no control over it.
Shipment will be made by U.S. Postal Service. Insurance is free but you must pay postage as set forth below.
Orders under $300 are shipped Priority Mail International flat rate envelope(6-10 business days) and are insured by a private insurer. Shipping charge is $9.95 for Canada and Mexico, $11.95 for most other countries (except Italy - see note below). I do not offer First Class International shipping due to the extended delivery time (4-6 weeks) my international customers have experienced.
Orders totaling over $300 but less than $650 will be insured through the Postal Service, which requires shipment to be Priority Mail International (6-10 business days). Shipping charge is $17 for Canada and Mexico, $23 for most other countries.
Orders over $650 but less than $2499 require shipment by Global Express Guaranteed. The minimum shipping charge for Canada and Mexico is $43.50 and the minimum shipping for most other countries is $58.50.
Finall shipping charges for orders over $650 will be determined by weight and destination country and added to your order total.
Any duty fees charged by countries outside the United States are the sole responsibility of the buyer and are in addition to charges paid to A Vintage Costume Jewelry Addiction. Customs forms will ALWAYS be filled out truthfully.
Please do not ask us to lie to your government or ours.
Due to the large number of packages lost when shipping to Italy, we will only ship there using Priority Mail International (values up to $650) at a cost of $24 or Global Express Guaranteed(values up to $2499)with insurance purchased through the Post Office at a cost of $55.

Return Policy
Every attempt has been made to give a complete and accurate description of
each item offered for sale. Our main goal is to make you a happy customer!
**If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with your purchase you have 2 days from receipt of item (date stated by Delivery Confirmation) to contact A Vintage Costume Jewelry Addiction by e-mail or telephone to arrange a return.
You will be responsible for return shipping and insurance costs. If you choose to return an item without insurance, loss or damage in transit is your responsibility as no refund will be issued for items lost or damaged in transit.
Item(s) must be received by us within 7 days of your receipt and be in the exact same condition as shipped. Please use the same care in the return shipping that we used in shipping to you. Absolutely no refund will be given for damaged or tampered with items.
Items not received by us within 7 days of your receipt (14 days for international customers) will be subject to a restocking fee of 25% of sale price if the post mark on the package is more than 2 days after your receipt as stated by Delivery Confirmation.
Absolutely no refunds will be given for items not received by us within 30 days of the original shipping date.
Please notify us if you intend to use a carrier other than the Postal Service so we can be looking for the package. Both FedEx and UPS tend to leave packages where they may be stolen or not seen for several days.
A refund, (minus all postage and insurance costs incurred by us in relation to your transaction and any applicable restocking fees), will be issued within 48 hours of receipt of item by A Vintage Costume Jewelry Addiction.
Those who abuse our liberal return policy by repeatedly (meaning more than twice in any 12 month period) ordering more than they intend to keep will also be subject to a restocking fee of 25% of sale price.
